Super agence !
Absolutely fantastic company to climb with! Our guide was great (very safe, lots of fun), the gear was perfect for what we needed, the refugios we stayed in gave everything you need, and the climb itself was incredible. For new-to-mountaineering people, highly reccomend (I had no prior experience and loved it).
Definitely bring a water bottle ready to hold heated water, and be ready for a big day on summit day.
Excellent!
We have had a wonderful experience on the 3-day Huayna Potosi route with Climbing South America and with the best and horniest guide, Silverio! 🙂 What happens, aunt? Aunt!!!!!! ;p
My partner and I had no experience with crampons and ice axes, and we had never reached 6,000m, but Silverio made it possible! The material that South America left us was super good, and the mother and daughter who run the agency were super friendly.
Silverio is a very good professional, in addition to having taken mountain guide courses, he is a super good chef! What good food! And it is ensured that you will reach the summit with your body well prepared, well hydrated and with very good food in your body.
It was very challenging, with the height, but he always encouraged us and we laughed a lot in super hard moments reaching the summit, and that made everything much easier. It was super exciting to reach the summit, and we thank you very much Silverio for your professionalism and your character.
There are much cheaper companies, but they put a lot of people with just one guide, just to make more money. People should think twice about paying less, since the mountain is very dangerous and many things can happen if you do not have a qualified guide. We paid a little more with this company and we are very happy about it.
Thanks for everything!
We did the 3 day Huayna Potosi Tour with Climbing South America and had a great time! The first two days were mostly for acclimatizing while the last day was reserved for the summit. On the first day, we did ice climbing at the foot of the glacier. We were total beginners and enjoyed it a lot. For sure, we will try it again on another occasion. On the second day we hiked to the high camp and rested there to save the energy for the summit. On the last day we woke up really early for the long and exhausting hike to the summit of Huayna Potosi. The hike was quite hard but was rewarding with an incredible view on the surrounding area. Walking on the glacier was a great experience and impressive with the ice surrounding you.
The tour guides, Alex and Patrick, were really professional with a lot of climbing experience, also of much more difficult mountains. We always felt perfectly safe, being secured on the rope. The guides knew how to react to altitude sickness and how to treat it. Also, one person in our group had a strong altitude sickness (unlucky) and the guides suggested to the person to not attempt the summit. They made sure that the person was well and 1 guide stayed with the person for security.
The equipment provided by the agency was in good conditions and the organization done by the back office was perfect. They were really kind and made sure that everyone was fine and prepared.
Overall, we had a great time and can only recommend to climb Huayna Potosi with Climbing South America!
Huayna Potosi summit - Great organization, good equipment, positive, expertise and most importantly, English speaking guides who were really helping everybody in our group (Alex, Patricio, Silver). We got a snow storm but still managed it to the summit, mostly thanks to our guide Alex, who took us up offroad instead of through the dangerous ridge. Absolutely recommend going with them on this climb.
